Lab Explosion

Recorded at Channel One Studio in Kingston and mixed by Scientist at King Tubby’s studio as part of the Scientist v. Crucial Bunny dub duel set. Roy Cousins produced the original release. It appeared on the 1982 Dub Duel release, one of Scientist’s confrontational dub albums from the peak of his early-1980s output. The track sat in the middle of a well-regarded Kingston studio showdown that helped define the competitive dub-album format. It remains part of the Scientist catalog that collectors and dub fans revisit through later reissues and digital editions. The track endures as a compact example of Scientist’s stripped, bass-heavy mixing style.
