Meet Me At the Go-Go

Released in 1982 by the Washington, D.C. go-go band Hot, Cold Sweat on D.E.T.T. as a 12-inch single, with a vocal version and an instrumental version. It later appeared on the 1985 Go-Go Crankin' compilation and the 1986 Good To Go soundtrack. The track was part of the early D.C. go-go wave that helped define the city’s signature sound in the 1980s. Its circulation on compilation albums and the Good To Go soundtrack kept it visible beyond its original local release. The record became a durable go-go touchstone and was later sampled by Coldcut and Stump. Its continued presence on reissues, compilations, and streaming platforms has kept it in circulation for later listeners.
