Nobody's Fault but Mine (2007 Remaster)
Led Zeppelin · —Led Zeppelin recorded “Nobody’s Fault but Mine” in November 1975 at Musicland Studios in Munich during the Presence sessions. Jimmy Page produced the track, Keith Harwood engineered and mixed the album with the band, and Robert Plant recorded his vocals while recovering from his 1975 car accident. Released by Swan Song in 1976 on Presence, the track reworked Blind Willie Johnson’s “It’s Nobody’s Fault but Mine” into a heavy electric arrangement built around Page’s stop-start riff and Plant’s harmonica break. It became one of the album’s central performances and one of only two Presence songs Led Zeppelin played regularly on their 1977 tour. The track remains one of Led Zeppelin’s major late-period blues adaptations and a defining Presence recording. The 2007 remaster on Mothership renewed its compilation visibility while preserving its place as a showcase for the band’s stripped-down mid-1970s power.
