Waterfalls
TLC · 1995Recording
Recorded in Atlanta at Bosstown Recording Studios, D.A.R.P. Studios, and Doppler Recording Studios. Organized Noize produced the track, and CeeLo Green contributed backing vocals. Released as TLC’s third single from CrazySexyCool, it turned the group into a socially conscious pop force. The song’s message about unsafe sex, drugs, and self-destruction gave TLC their biggest hit to that point. The song became TLC’s signature record and one of the defining singles of 1990s R&B. Its message, video, and chorus remained culturally durable, and it continued to be cited by artists and listeners as a touchstone of empowerment and awareness.
