Creep
TLC · 1994Recording
TLC recorded "Creep" in Atlanta during the CrazySexyCool sessions, with Dallas Austin producing and the group handling the vocal performance. The song was cut at DARP Studios and issued as the album's lead single. "Creep" became TLC's first Billboard Hot 100 number one and confirmed the group's shift into a smoother, more adult-oriented sound. It also won the group a Grammy for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals. The song remains one of TLC's defining hits and a signature example of 1990s R&B confidence and tension. It has stayed in rotation through compilation releases, radio play, and later covers and reinterpretations.
