Prelude

Pendulum · 2005
Recording

“Prelude” was released in 2005 as the opening track on Pendulum’s debut album “Hold Your Colour” for Breakbeat Kaos. The album credits Rob Swire and Gareth McGrillen for production and writing, with Stuart Hawkes credited for mastering. The track introduced “Hold Your Colour,” the album that established Pendulum’s first full-length statement after their early Breakbeat Kaos singles. Its short cinematic build framed the album before “Slam,” one of the group’s breakthrough UK chart singles. “Prelude” remains tied to the original sequencing and identity of “Hold Your Colour.” Its continued presence on reissues and digital editions preserves it as the album’s opening cue.
