“Slam” was released in 2005 as part of Pendulum’s double A-side single “Slam / Out Here” on Breakbeat Kaos and also appeared on “Hold Your Colour.” The track was written and produced by Rob Swire, Gareth McGrillen and Paul Harding, with Stuart Hawkes credited for mastering. The single became Pendulum’s first UK Top 40 entry, reaching number 34 on the UK Official Singles Chart and number 1 on the UK Dance Singles Chart. Its video and forceful club production helped move the group from specialist releases into wider chart visibility. “Slam” remains one of Pendulum’s defining early singles and a central track from the “Hold Your Colour” era. Its continued use in compilations, live sets and video-game soundtracks kept it visible beyond its original Breakbeat Kaos release.
