Recording

"Angel in My Pocket" was recorded during the 1979–1980 sessions for Change's debut album The Glow of Love, with basic tracks cut at Fonoprint Studios in Bologna and vocals recorded at Power Station in New York. Jocelyn Brown sang lead, Jacques Fred Petrus produced, and David Romani and Paolo Gianolio arranged and conducted the recording. The song appeared on The Glow of Love and was paired with "Searching" on the 1980 UK single and 12-inch release. Its extended dancefloor treatment helped establish the international club identity of Change's debut-era recordings. "Angel in My Pocket" remained a durable selection from Change's first album and has been repeatedly restored on expanded editions and disco compilations. The extended version has continued to circulate alongside the original album recording.
