The track was recorded for The English Riviera with Joseph Mount leading Metronomy alongside Oscar Cash, Anna Prior and Gbenga Adelekan. Mount wrote and produced the recording, shaping the album around the coastal pop concept that defined the band third LP. Released as a single in 2011, it became Metronomy breakthrough song and the defining track from The English Riviera. The album earned a Mercury Prize nomination and brought the group a much wider audience beyond their earlier electronic pop following. It remains Metronomy signature song and one of the most recognizable British indie pop singles of the early 2010s. The track continues to anchor the band live sets and has endured through playlists, remixes and its distinctive organ hook.
