Recording

Model 500's Electronic (Remix) was first issued on the 1993 compilation Classics, which gathered Juan Atkins' Model 500 recordings for R&S Records. The release credits Juan Atkins and Model 500 as writer, producer, and performer. The remix presented a 1988 Metroplex-era Model 500 track within a compact retrospective of Atkins' early solo catalogue. Its placement on Classics helped frame his mid-1980s and late-1980s productions as a coherent body of work for European listeners. Electronic (Remix) remained part of the Model 500 catalogue through later Classics reissues. It preserves the connection between Atkins' Metroplex singles and the international archival circulation of early Detroit electronic music.
