Released in 1988 on Arista, the track came from K 9 Posse, the self titled debut album by Wardell Mahone, Vernon Lynch Jr and DJ Terrence Sheppard. Bobby Bobcat Ervin produced the track, Nile Rodgers was credited as co producer and Glen Marchase mixed the single. Aint Nothin To It introduced K 9 Posse through Aristas late 1980s major label push into hip hop. The single reached number 76 on the UK Official Singles Chart in 1989. The track remains the groups best known record and a representative late 1980s major label rap single. Its later visibility comes from collector circulation, digital reissues and continued interest in the Arista and Pow Wow era of hip hop twelve inch releases.
