Recording

Recorded during the By All Means Necessary period, the Numero Uno Re Recording appeared on the 1988 Jack Of Spades and Im Still 1 single. KRS One produced, directed, mixed and wrote the release, with Bryan Chuck New credited for remix work. The track extended Im Still 1 beyond its album version as part of Boogie Down Productions 1988 Jive single campaign. It reinforced KRS Ones teacher and battle ready persona during the groups post Criminal Minded era. The re recording remains a collector and DJ version of one of Boogie Down Productions defining late 1980s tracks. Its title phrase and performance style kept the song tied to KRS Ones long standing reputation as an emcee standard bearer.
