Human Resource · 1991
Recording

Produced by the Dutch duo Human Resource — Maurizio Stars and Martin Damiani — in the Netherlands in 1991, the track was built around a pitched-down vocal sample and hard, distorted kick drums characteristic of the emerging Dutch hardcore sound. Released on Rotterdam Records, 'Dominator' became one of the defining anthems of the early European hardcore rave scene, crossing over to mainstream UK chart success and bringing the Dutch gabber-adjacent sound to a mass audience. The track remains one of the most recognisable records of the early 1990s rave era and has been reissued, remixed, and sampled repeatedly across subsequent decades, cementing its status as a foundational text of hardcore and gabber music.
