Back in Love Again

L.T.D. · 1977
Recording

Recorded by L.T.D. during the sessions for the album Something to Love at ABC Recording Studios in Los Angeles. The track featured lead vocals by Jeffrey Osborne and reflected the band's polished blend of soul, funk and sophisticated studio musicianship under producer Bobby Martin. Released as the lead single from Something to Love, it became one of L.T.D.'s biggest crossover hits and helped establish Jeffrey Osborne as one of the leading vocalists in contemporary R&B. The song remains a cornerstone of late-1970s soul and dance radio, receiving continued airplay and frequent sampling by hip-hop and R&B artists. Its groove, horn arrangements and vocal performance have made it one of the most enduring recordings in the L.T.D. catalogue.
