Prophecy Version

Black Disciples · 1977
Recording

Recorded in Kingston in 1977 with Winston Rodney producing and arranging, backed by the Black Disciples. It was cut at Harry J Studio with Sylvan Morris engineering the session and mix. The track captured Burning Spear’s Black Disciples-era roots sound at its most stripped-down and heavy. It helped define the dark, militant dub style associated with late-1970s Jamaican reggae. It remained a sought-after roots-dub selection and kept circulating on later reissue compilations. The track is still referenced as part of the Black Disciples and Burning Spear dub canon.
