Lithium (Radio Edit)
Little Roy · 2011Recorded and mixed in London at Miloco’s The Ironworks for the 2011 Battle for Seattle sessions. The track was produced by Prince Fatty (Mike Pelanconi) as part of Little Roy’s Nirvana cover project, with additional contributions from veteran Jamaican musicians on the album. It appeared on Battle for Seattle, a reggae reinterpretation of Nirvana songs released at the height of the Nevermind anniversary tributes in 2011. The album framed Little Roy’s version of “Lithium” as part of a full-length concept cover record rather than a stand-alone novelty. The track endures as one of the best-known cuts from Battle for Seattle, a record that kept circulating through reissues and continued to introduce reggae listeners to a roots-dub reading of Nirvana. It helped cement Little Roy’s late-career association with the project and remains a reference point for reggae-meets-grunge cover versions.
