A.I.E. (A Mwana) - Remastered

Lafayette Afro Rock Band recorded A.I.E. (A Mwana) under the Crispy & Co. name during the group's mid-1970s Paris period. The recording was produced by Pierre Jaubert and later reissued in remastered form on Darkest Light and Afro Funk Explosion. A.I.E. (A Mwana) appeared on the 1975 Funky Flavored material associated with the Lafayette Afro Rock Band's alias Crispy & Co. It extended the group's Paris-made catalogue beyond the Lafayette Afro Rock Band name and connected their funk-band sound to an existing Afro-pop song also recorded by Black Blood. The track remained in circulation through Strut and Creole-linked reissues that revived interest in the Lafayette Afro Rock Band catalogue. Its continued presence on compilations placed it alongside the group's better-known breakbeat records from the same Paris recording period.
