Love Is The Message (Danny Krivit Re-edit)
MFSB / The Salsoul Orchestra · 1973Danny Krivit created Love Is The Message as a re-edit built from MFSB's Love Is the Message and The Salsoul Orchestra's Ooh, I Love It. The source MFSB recording came from the Philadelphia International house-band sessions at Sigma Sound Studios in Philadelphia, while Krivit's edit was issued for DJ use through T.D. Records. The Danny Krivit re-edit formalized a key New York club blend that connected Philadelphia International orchestration with Salsoul's percussion-heavy dance catalogue. It became associated with the Paradise Garage and with the wider culture of extended disco edits made for dancers and DJs. The edit remains one of Krivit's best-known reworks and a touchstone of New York disco edit culture. Its combination of MFSB and Salsoul material helped make Love Is The Message a continuing reference point in house, ballroom, and classic disco sets.
