Just a Dream

Recorded in Jamaica in 1972 during Slim Smith’s sessions with producer Bunny Lee, later assembled for release on Clocktower Records in New York. The original album collected Smith’s late-period solo performances from the Bunny Lee archive. Released in 1972, it presented one of the strongest showcases of Slim Smith’s solo voice after his work with the Techniques and the Uniques. The LP helped solidify his reputation as one of the most gifted singers of the rocksteady era. The album stayed in circulation through repeated reissues on Pama, Trojan, and Clocktower. It remains a key document of Slim Smith’s late career and one of the best-known packages of his Bunny Lee recordings.
