One Love to Give
Phyllis Dillon · 1972Recording
Recorded in Jamaica for Phyllis Dillon’s 1972 Treasure Isle album One Life to Live, with Tommy McCook and His Band backing her vocal. The original production was handled by Arthur "Duke" Reid. The track formed part of Dillon’s early-1970s Treasure Isle output, extending her move from rocksteady into a smoother reggae style. It was issued as an album cut on One Life to Live and circulated under the alternate title "One Life to Live, One Love to Give." The song remains part of Dillon’s best-known later-period work and is regularly reissued with her Treasure Isle catalog. It continues to represent her transition into reggae-era lovers rock and remains a touchpoint for compilations and archival releases.
