Send Him Back

The Pointer Sisters · 1972
Recording

The Pointer Sisters cut "Send Him Back" as the B-side of their Atlantic single "Destination No More Heartaches" in 1971, with Wardell Quezergue credited as producer and arranger. The single was issued in August 1972 as Atlantic 45-2893. The track emerged from the group's early Atlantic period and became a Northern soul favorite rather than a mainstream hit. Contemporary and later discography sources consistently note its status as a classic in that scene. "Send Him Back" has remained a staple for Northern soul collectors and compilations, keeping the Pointer Sisters' pre-fame Atlantic recordings in circulation. Later reissues and playlist placements show that it continued to attract attention decades after release.
