Wonderland

Released in the UK in 2001 on Echo as a collaboration between The Psychedelic Waltons and Róisín Murphy, with the single issued in multiple mixes including the S-Man’s Dark Tribe version. The release was a club-focused 12-inch and promo single rather than a mainstream pop campaign. The track gave The Psychedelic Waltons a brief chart presence in the UK Independent Singles Chart and drew notice in the dance press as a Murphy collaboration. It circulated as a club record on Echo and in specialist dance coverage around late 2001. Wonderland remained the group’s best-known title and continued to appear on Roger Sanchez and house-music compilation releases. Its association with Róisín Murphy helped keep it in circulation among early-2000s UK dance-catalog listeners.
