Starchild

Starchild was released in 2001 by B.M.R with Level 42 and reworked Level 42's 1981 song of the same name. The track was written by Wally Badarou, Mark King and Phil Gould, with the B.M.R production associated with Boris Dlugosch and Michi Lange. The single brought a Level 42 jazz-funk song into the early-2000s German house circuit through Peppermint Jam. Its remix campaign included versions by Bob Sinclar, Boris Dlugosch and Michi Lange, extending the record's reach into European club sets. Starchild remained tied to the early-2000s wave of disco-house reworks of 1980s pop and funk material. Later digital editions on Peppermint Jam kept the B.M.R version available alongside the remix package.
