Rhythm & Sound · 2001
Recording

The track was produced by Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald as Rhythm & Sound and issued opposite The Wailers Band’s “Higher Field Marshall.” It was mastered by CGB and released as part of the PK 10-inch series. Released in 2001, the track placed Rhythm & Sound’s Berlin studio minimalism directly alongside a Jamaican roots instrumental source. The single became one of the project’s most admired non-vocal versions and a key example of its stripped, bass-heavy approach. The track remains a standout Rhythm & Sound catalogue piece and has been repressed repeatedly on single-sided PK 10-inch editions. It is widely treated as a modern dub landmark within the Basic Channel and Rhythm & Sound lineage.
