Fight the Power (Dub Mix)

The track was made during Dreadzone’s early 1993-1994 studio period, when Greg Roberts and Tim Bran were building the group’s first wave of post-Big Audio Dynamite material with Leo Williams. The dub mix appeared on the Totem Records single Fight The Power and was later remastered from early Dreadzone tapes for Rare Mixes Vol 1. Released in 1993, the track was part of Dreadzone’s first run of singles before Performance and Second Light expanded their audience. It documented the group’s early fusion of dub production, breakbeat structure, and live-band bass pressure. The track remained a collector’s early Dreadzone mix until it was restored for Rare Mixes Vol 1 in 2020. It preserves the band’s formative Totem Records sound before their mid-1990s Virgin-era breakthrough.
