The Helicopter Tune
Deep Blue · 1993Recording
Sean O'Keeffe recorded, engineered, and produced the track for Moving Shadow in 1993, and the original single was issued as SHADOW41. The label credits the recording to Deep Blue with O'Keeffe as the sole writer and producer. The track became a major early Moving Shadow anthem and one of the signature tunes of the 1993 jungle era. It reached number 68 on the UK Singles Chart in April 1994. The track stayed in circulation through later Moving Shadow reissues and mixes, and it was featured in Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition. Its status was reinforced by repeated reappearances on drum and bass compilations and official label reissues.
