The Truth - TR500

Friend Within · 2019

Recording

“The Truth - TR500” was released by Friend Within in 2019 as part of Toolroom’s TR500-linked digital catalogue, following the track’s original 2018 single issue on Toolroom. The record was written and produced by Lee Mortimer under the Friend Within alias. The original “The Truth” single was Friend Within’s second Toolroom release of 2018 after “Lonely” and continued his relationship with the label after its fifteenth-birthday activity. Toolroom promoted the track as a high-energy club record built around disco elements, rumbling bass lines and catchy vocals. “The Truth - TR500” remains documented through Toolroom, Spotify, Beatport, Discogs and YouTube Music listings. It stands as one of Friend Within’s late-2010s Toolroom cuts before his later Toolroom album Hope.
