Big Love
Pete Heller's Big Love · 1979Recording
Pete Heller wrote and produced the record, building it around material from Stargard's 1979 recording Wear It Out. The 1999 single circulated in Pete Heller's Original Mix, Eat Me Edit, and Dronez mixes by Erick Morillo, Harry Romero, and José Nuñez. Released in 1999 on Junior, the single became Heller's defining solo hit after his work with Terry Farley as part of Heller & Farley. It reached number 12 on the UK Official Singles Chart and became one of the year's major crossover club records. The track remains one of the best-known late-1990s disco-sampling house records and has been repeatedly reissued and remixed. Later versions by David Penn and Dr Packer kept it active in club catalogues and Defected-era house retrospectives.
