Dancer (Mixed)

Robert Hood constructed Dancer around samples from Gino Soccio's 1979 recording of the same name. It first appeared in 2011 alongside the remastered The Greatest Dancer on M-Plant; mixed compilation versions followed later. The release highlighted Hood's interest in reshaping older dance records through tightly controlled loops. Juno Daily praised its combination of bass guitar, claps, brass samples and female vocals. The track subsequently appeared on Paradise on Earth 01 Mexico in 2016 and Family 002: Journey to Dawn in 2022. These DJ compilations extended its circulation beyond the original twelve-inch release.
