Good Intentions (LP mix)

Session Victim · 2012
Recording

Good Intentions was written and produced by Hauke Freer and Matthias Reiling as Session Victim for Retreat's Treats Vol. 3 12-inch. The track was later included as the LP Mix on The Haunted House Of House, the duo's debut album for Delusions Of Grandeur. The track became Retreat's best-known early release and appeared in Resident Advisor's tracks of 2011 poll. Contemporary reviews praised its Rhodes-led groove, sample craft and warm house construction. Good Intentions remains one of Session Victim's signature records and was later revisited by Nebraska for the Re-Treats Vol. 1 remix series. Its inclusion on The Haunted House Of House helped anchor the album's reputation as a defining early statement from the duo.
