Heads Up

Kevin Knapp wrote and produced “Heads Up” for the Heads Up EP, released in April 2019 on Etiquette. The original release was a solo Kevin Knapp production credited to him as performer, songwriter, and producer. Released as the title track of Knapp’s 2019 Heads Up EP, the record marked his debut on Etiquette and quickly circulated through club compilations such as Toolroom Ibiza 2019. That placement indicates it was framed as a functional dance-floor record at release. The track remained part of Knapp’s recent repertoire and was still being referenced in later coverage of his career, showing it as one of the releases that helped define his profile in house music. Its inclusion on a major DJ compilation also gave it wider reach beyond the original EP.
