Gonna Make You Mine
Loose Ends · 1986Recording
Recorded during the 1985–1986 Zagora sessions with Loose Ends and producer Nick Martinelli. It appeared as the B-side to "Stay a Little While, Child" on the original 1986 single release. The track extended the Zagora era with a strong non-album side on the band's 1986 Virgin single. It reinforced Loose Ends’ profile as a polished British R&B act in the middle of their commercial peak. The song’s vocal lines and groove have been sampled by later hip-hop artists, including De La Soul and Foxy Brown featuring Blackstreet. That reuse kept it in circulation well beyond its original single run.
