Come Into My Life
Joyce Sims · 1987Recording
The track appears on Joyce Sims’s 1987 debut album Come into My Life, written by Sims and produced for Sleeping Bag Records by Kurtis Mantronik. The album version runs as the extended cut used on the LP release. Released in 1987, it was the title track from Sims’s debut album and her biggest hit, reaching the Top 10 in the UK and the US R&B chart. It also drew favorable contemporary attention for its club-oriented production and soulful vocal style. The song remained Sims’s signature recording and continued to circulate through later reissues and remix packages. Its extended album mix kept the track in rotation among 1980s club-soul and freestyle listeners.
