Jack the Groove

Recorded in 1986 at Vaughan Mason Recording Studio, with Vaughan Mason as executive producer. The track was issued on the US Grove Street 12-inch single paired with “Jump In Your Dance.” Released as one of Raze’s early house records, it crossed into the UK singles chart and helped establish the group beyond club circles. It became one of the first house hits to break into the UK Top 20 in early 1987. The track remained a recognized early-house staple and was later noted for sampling Cymande’s “Bra,” a connection that keeps it embedded in sampling culture. Its UK chart success also helped frame Raze as part of the first wave of house records that reached pop audiences.
