Recording

Raze recorded Break 4 Love in 1987 with Vaughan Mason as writer and producer and Keith Thompson on vocals. The 2000s Cuban Cutz Terrace Mix was issued as part of the Champion Records DJ promo package alongside Future Funk Squad remixes and the original mix. The original single was released in 1987 and became a foundational house record, topping the US dance club chart and reaching the UK singles chart. The Cuban Cutz Terrace Mix formed part of the early-2000s remix campaign that returned the record to UK club circulation. Break 4 Love remained one of the most enduring early house records and was repeatedly reissued, remixed and covered. Its later Champion, Armada and digital editions kept the track active for DJs beyond its original Grove Street release.
