In the Name of Love
Thompson Twins · 1988Recording
Recorded in Brooklyn at Loud House Studios as part of the Todd Terry Project’s 1988 sessions. Todd Terry produced the track himself and built it around his sample-collage house style. Released during the late-1980s New York house boom, the track became one of Todd Terry’s defining early records. It helped establish his reputation for hard-edged, playful, sample-driven club production. The record remains a touchstone of classic New York house and breakbeat-oriented rave culture. Later writers have treated it as a key bridge between underground house, plunderphonic editing, and the wider club sound that followed.
