Recording

Recorded during the East of Eden sessions in Pakistan, Italy and Sweden, with Victoria Bergsman and Andreas Soderstrom working alongside Pakistani musicians. Dan Lissvik produced the finished recording, which reworked the Animal Collective song My Girls with altered lyrics and a new arrangement. The track transformed a prominent Animal Collective song into a sparse, intimate interpretation retitled around Bergsman's male friends. It became one of the most widely discussed recordings from East of Eden. The recording remains a distinctive example of how Taken by Trees radically reshaped familiar songs. Its accompanying tightrope video further established it as one of the album's best-known tracks.
