Killer

Adamski & Seal · 1990
Recording

Adamski wrote the track during the first wave of British acid house and cut the original with Seal after meeting him at MCA Publishing, where Seal added vocals to Adamski’s instrumental. Seal’s vocal contribution was recorded in early 1990, and the single issued on MCA later that March. The single became a defining crossover hit from the rave era, carrying warehouse dance music into the UK pop mainstream and reaching number one on the Official Singles Chart. It made Adamski and Seal household names and became one of the era’s most recognisable club-to-chart records. The song has remained a durable pop-dance standard, widely covered and reinterpreted by later artists including Bastille and Jamie Lenman. It is still cited as a landmark acid-house crossover and continues to circulate through compilations, remixes, and dance-music retrospectives.
