Everybody
FPI Project · 1997Recording
Originally recorded for Tina Moore’s 1995 debut album, with the single produced by Jere MC and M. Doc. The 1997 UK hit version was Kelly G’s remix, issued with club mixes by Kelly G, Tuff Jam, and Steve Maestro. The Kelly G remix turned a contemporary R&B single into a UK garage crossover and pushed it into the UK Top 10, peaking at No. 7. It also reached No. 1 on the UK Dance Singles Chart and UK Hip Hop and R&B Singles Chart. The record became a defining early UK garage anthem and is widely cited as a blueprint for the style. Its vocal hook was sampled in later tracks, including Double 99’s “Ripgroove,” and it remains a staple of garage compilations and club retrospectives.
