The First Time Free (Claptone Remix)

Claptone · 2016

Recording

The remix combined Lem Springsteen and John Ciafone's original production for Mood II Swing with Roland Clark's contribution, marrying Ultra Naté's guitar riff and Roland Clark's vocal alongside Claptone's remix production. The track samples both Ultra Naté's 'Free' and Roland Clark's 'The First Time.' Created specifically for Claptone's 'The Masquerade' compilation, the remix epitomised house music's timeless appeal during Claptone's career zenith in 2016. It charted at number 6 on Beatport's Top 100 within two weeks of release, establishing Claptone's remix prowess across the broader DJ community.
