Wish You Were Here

Wish You Were Here

Pink Floyd · 1975
Recording

Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London during the 1975 sessions for the album Wish You Were Here, with Pink Floyd and guest violinist Stéphane Grappelli. Brian Humphries engineered the sessions. As the title track of Pink Floyd's 1975 album, it distilled the record's themes of absence, alienation, and tribute to Syd Barrett. It quickly became one of the band's defining songs and a centerpiece of their studio-era reputation. The song remains one of Pink Floyd's best-known recordings and a staple of classic-rock radio and tribute performances. Its melody and lyric have kept it in circulation through covers, live tributes, and continuing fan recognition.
