Recording

Recorded in 1975 by the Louisville, Kentucky group Seventh Wonder, the track featured the band's core lineup performing a sophisticated blend of soul, funk and harmony vocals. The session was produced for a small independent release that later became highly sought after by collectors. The record was largely overlooked on its original release but became a prized rare-groove and modern soul classic among DJs and collectors. Its combination of uplifting vocals, rich arrangements and dance-floor appeal earned it a strong underground reputation. The track achieved enduring status through rare-groove, soul and hip-hop sampling culture, becoming one of the most celebrated obscurities of the 1970s. It remains a staple of collector compilations and is frequently cited as Seventh Wonder's signature recording.
