GotSome feat. The Get Along Gang · 2013
Recording

GotSome, the Bristol duo Alex Homes and Adam Gorsky, issued the track as the lead cut from their debut Bassline EP on Defected in 2013. Defected’s interview with the pair placed their work in Bristol studio surroundings and identified the record as a new statement for the duo. The track broke through as an underground house record and quickly became the duo’s best-known release. Defected said it arrived with strong support from B.Traits and other tastemakers, and the label followed it with a remix package from Friend Within, Chocolate Puma, Kenny Dope O’Gutta, and Chus & Ceballos. Bassline remained the record most associated with GotSome and continued to circulate through remix editions and later reworks, including a 2021 Ruben Lasala remix release on Defected’s D4 D4NCE imprint. It also appears in track databases such as WhoSampled as one of the duo’s notable recordings.
