Talk On

Produced by Toronto-based Nathan Barato using a Moog Sub37, iPad, and various plugins and chopped audio, featuring vocals from Sasha Brown that were originally recorded for a different track. The EP was Barato's second release on Jamie Jones's Hot Creations, released on twelve-inch vinyl and digital as part of the two-track Wobble Talk EP alongside "Wobble Back." Shadow Child and Theo Kottis gave the track its first play on Rinse FM in February 2016, and it drew support from Green Velvet, Pete Tong, Santé, Mark Knight, Carl Craig, Felix Da Housecat, Chris Liebing, and Darius Syrossian. Hot Creations described Barato's skill at building and releasing pressure through rattling percussion, a rumbling bassline, and chopped-up vocal samples teased in and out across two breakdowns. The track was later included on Barato's debut album Past Forward on Hot Creations in 2018 and licensed for the Vatos Locos compilation X: Ten Years Of The BPM Festival, reinforcing his position as a key figure in the Hot Creations and Paradise ecosystem alongside Patrick Topping and Richy Ahmed.
