Diaporama

Created around 2010 by French electronic music producer Kartell, whose real name is Thomas Thierry, 'Diaporama' belongs to his early catalogue of independently released productions. The track was developed during his formative period working with sampled recordings, programmed rhythms and electronic arrangements, before his later association with Roche Musique. Circulating by early 2011, 'Diaporama' helped establish Kartell's early production style within the emerging French electronic music scene. Its combination of recurring melodic phrases, sampled textures and dance-oriented rhythms reflected the renewed interest in vintage recordings among independent producers. The recording has remained available through online DJ selections and specialist electronic music playlists. Italian producer Le Nonsense subsequently created a remix, bringing the composition into a different rhythmic setting and extending its circulation among listeners of independent French electronic music.
