Recording

Produced by Parisian producer Thomas Thierry under his Kartell alias, the track samples Avant's 1990s R&B single "Separated" and was released as part of his Sapphire EP on his own Roche Musique label. The track exemplified the wave of French nu-disco and future house emanating from Paris in the early 2010s, with Kartell positioned as a central figure alongside Roche Musique labelmates FKJ, Darius, and Cherokee. Coverage on platforms like Earmilk highlighted both the track's sophisticated bassline work and its place within a broader Parisian electronic movement. The track remains representative of the Roche Musique sound that helped define a generation of French electronic producers bridging house, nu-disco, and R&B, with the label's roster going on to achieve significant international recognition.
