Dance With You

Recorded in 1979 for the album In Danceland on Solar Records, with Dick Griffey credited as producer and Steve Hodge handling recording and mixing. The track was issued in the same era as Lucas’s wider Solar output and appeared on the original album and single campaign. The song was the standout cut from Carrie Lucas in Danceland and became her only entry on the UK Singles Chart, where it peaked at No. 40. It circulated as a disco-dance favorite and kept Lucas visible beyond her U.S. label orbit. ‘Dance With You’ remained a durable disco source after release, and Armand Van Helden sampled it in his 1999 UK No. 1 hit ‘You Don’t Know Me.’ That sample gave the track a second life far beyond its original chart run.
