Byron Lee and the Dragonaires · 1991
Recording

Recorded by Byron Lee and the Dragonaires for the 1991 Dynamic Sounds album Soca Greatest Hits, a set that also included the track on later compilations. The release is associated with Byron Lee’s Kingston-based Dynamic Sounds operation. It appeared during Byron Lee and the Dragonaires’ early-1990s run of carnival-focused soca releases, when the band was firmly established as one of Jamaica’s leading Caribbean dance-music acts. The song was issued on Soca Greatest Hits, the label’s 1991 anthology of the group’s soca material. The track remained in circulation through later Byron Lee anthologies, including The Man and His Music and Ska Reggae Soca Style: An Anthology (1964–1996), which kept it in the group’s catalog. It is also indexed on later discography and sample-reference sites as one of the band’s recurring soca staples.
