Lafourcade co-wrote the song with Leonel García and co-produced it with Cachorro López. García played acoustic guitar, while Lafourcade and Marian Ruzzi arranged the strings. Released as the album's lead single, it marked Lafourcade's return to original material after her Agustín Lara tribute. It won Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Alternative Song at the 2015 Latin Grammys. Playing For Change and the International Committee of the Red Cross adapted the song in 2020 to support families of missing people across Latin America.
