Mind Yo Bizness

Produced by Claude VonStroke (Barclay Crenshaw) and Green Velvet (Curtis Jones) at Green Velvet's Chicago studio, where VonStroke travelled after the pair's initial run of live shows together at the tail end of 2015 sparked the Get Real collaborative project. The track is the A-side of Get Real's debut EP, released alongside "Snuffaluffagus" on Claude VonStroke's Dirtybird label. The debut release arrived after Get Real had already exploded onto the festival circuit, booking major events and selling out a Christmas 2015 tour before any studio material existed, making the EP one of the most anticipated releases on Dirtybird. EARMILK praised the track for blending Green Velvet's Chicago house influence with VonStroke's signature Dirtybird bounce, and it featured on Beatport's Best of 2016 Tech House list. The Get Real project continued beyond the EP with further releases and high-profile festival bookings, establishing a model for supergroup-style collaborations in the US underground house scene and demonstrating the commercial power of pairing two label heads from complementary scenes.
